Favorite Foods – Pasta, Chinese

I have a lot of types of foods that I enjoy eating, but if I were to classify my favorites, many of them would fit into 2 categories – pasta and Chinese food.  I come from an Italian background, so the pasta is no big surprise – I have always really enjoyed almost any pasta dish imaginable.  As far as Chinese food, I have always loved to eat this type of food, but my enjoyment of it has grown since I married my husband, since he is Chinese.  He can prepare Chinese food much better than anything in most restaurants, which has increased my appreciation of this type of food.

My Daily Schedule – Consistency!

My daily schedule is very consistent.  Monday through Friday, I wake up at 5:00am, and then do a workout video from 5:00-5:30.  After that, I shower, eat breakfast, surf the internet, and then get ready to go to work.  I drive to the bus station, board my bus, and read a book until the bus gets me downtown.  Then I get off my bus, walk the ½ block to my work, and work all day. My work days aren’t particularly consistent or similar, but the tasks I do are somewhat consistent.  I have lunch around 12:30, and I leave work at 4:30 to catch my bus back home.  I drive from the bus station home, and then have dinner with my husband, and then we usually watch TV, play board games or games on the Wii, or run errands.  I try to be in bed before 10:00 to start the day all over again!

Meeting with Obama

the 44th President of the United States...Bara...

There are a ton of people who I would love to meet, and it is hard for me to narrow it down to just one person.  If I’m forced to choose one, I think my current choice would be Barack Obama.  I didn’t even vote for Obama in the election, and I don’t think I would list myself among his biggest supporters, but I have a fascination with the role of President of the U.S., and there are a lot of questions I would love to ask the current President.  I am curious to know what all the President himself handles, responsibilities, pressures, interests outside of the job, etc., just to allow myself a deeper understanding of the position and the man behind the position.

My Current Job – Longest Held Job for Me

My current job is the one that I have held for the longest time.  It’s the first “grown up” job I got after I graduated from college, and I have been at the job every since.  As with every job, there are the ups and downs, and there are some tasks that I don’t enjoy doing as much, but overall, it has been a great job.  Most of the tasks associated with my job are things that I really enjoy, and I’m lucky to have a good boss and good coworkers as well.  The only thing I wish was different about my job was that it could be a bit closer to home, but my commute time isn’t terrible – I just always wish it was shorter!

Coolest Event Ever Attended – National Championship Horse Show

While I’m sure not many people would choose the same event as I have chosen for the coolest event I have ever attended, being able to see the American Royal National Championship horse show was the coolest event for me.  I have been riding and showing horses for 16 years, and the opportunity to watch the best horses and riders compete is something pretty special.  I love seeing the horses, riders, and trainers that I had until then only read about in magazines, and I loved being in the environment with all of those great competitors.  I hope to someday be able to attend the world championships, but for now, the national championships were the coolest event I have ever been to.

Greece – My Most Desired Travel Destination

If I could choose one travel destination to go to, it would definitely be Greece. I have wanted to visit Greece for a long time, and the desire has increased as time has passed.  My intrigue likely started in college, when I was friends with a girl who was from Greece.  Her stories of her homeland, plus the amazing pictures I have seen of the country, make me curious to learn more, and make me want to see it all for myself!  I love Greek food as well, and would love to experience every aspect of this beautiful country.  I hope to someday make a trip to Greece, and check that off my list of most desired places to visit.

Hawaii – Ocean Paradise!

To Kaena Point, Oahu, Hawaii

I have been lucky enough to visit a number of amazing places, but hands down, the coolest place I have ever been was Hawaii.  The people, the scenery, and everything else about Hawaii just makes it feel like paradise.  The weather is wonderful, the scenery is even better, and there are tons of cool things to do there as well.  I have not visited all of the islands, but my experience on Maui and Oahu were absolutely amazing.  All of these things combine together to make Hawaii an awesome place to visit – there truly is something for everyone there, and it is a great place to relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings as well.

My Current Excitement – Anniversary Trip

The newest thing going on for me is planning for my 2nd wedding anniversary trip with my husband.  We were hoping to go on a bigger trip, but some money problems forced us to scale back a bit.  So, our new plan is to head down to Kansas City, MO to watch our local baseball team, the Minnesota Twins play the Kansas City Royals.  They are in Kansas City the weekend after our anniversary, so it should be a fun trip for us.  Our honeymoon included attending 2 Twins games out near San Francisco, so this trip has extra special meaning since it is somewhat similar to our honeymoon.
