A Quality Pot Roast
My wife had invited a friend of ours to come over for dinner. She was preparing a pot roast in the crock pot. As the crock pot worked its magic, one could peer through the glass cover and see the tender meat, completely engulfed in softly bubbling gravy and a cacophony of carrots, potatoes, celery and seasonings. We waited patiently for hours as the aroma of home cooking filled our abode. Our friend arrived shortly after sunset and was greeted by the pleasant scent of the meal. We served the pot roast with crumbly biscuits generously lathered with warm honey. The meal was complemented with an oaky merlot which piqued the taste buds even more.
Afff fire extinguishers are an Important Safety Feature of Every Home
Do you ever wonder why, at every place you have ever gone to school or worked or stood in line to pay a bill, there are afff fire extinguishers? It’s because large afff fire extinguishers are an important safety feature of any public venue. They are available to prevent small fires form escalating into destructive blazes that do thousands, if not millions, of dollars worth of damages. The one place you spend a lot of time but may NOT see a fire extinguisher is a place that you likely have a personal investment in: your own home. Afff fire extinguishers aren’t sexy. They aren’t works of art, or decorative, or part of your home entertainment system. They are, however, a very important accessory in your home. A fire extinguisher can save your life, or the life of a family member, or prevent the single most expensive investment you will ever make from going up in smoke. Under the sink, every home kitchen should have a fire extinguisher within easy reach.
Tidying One’s Own Nest and Nest Eggs
There has been an abundance of media focus lately on the faltering economy. It is in times like these that one can easily succumb to the overwhelming hype and worry constantly. However, if each person reduced their concern to a smaller level and found ways to improve their personal economy, the economy of the nation would eventually follow as well. A person should clip coupons, reduce the frequency of fast food visits, get a haircut every four weeks instead of three, etc. These measures may take a small toll on businesses in the near future, however, if the money that the individual has saved goes into an account that earns interest, the individual will have more disposable income in a few years.

A Day in the Life
Thursday started out much like many of the days before it; alarm sounding off promptly at six, snooze. Snooze again. Snooze once more. Finally, my feet managed to find the floor and walk the familiar route to the shower. As I cleansed, my mind became cluttered with lists of tasks to be completed, gifts to be purchased, and phone calls to make. I wished the drain would take these responsibilities out with the waste water. I headed up the stairs and packed myself a lunch and was elated to find that my wife had already prepared my midday meal before she departed for work. This selfless act lifted my spirits and has been the highlight of my day.
Another Awards Show?

It seems that every time I turn on the television there is a new awards show being broadcast. Grammy’s, Emmy’s, Country Music Awards…it never ends! I think I am awarded out. Every niche field finds it necessary to share their awards program with the world. I think that awards shows used to be a way for companies to showcase their latest talent and give themselves a pat on the back but these shows don’t have the same impact anymore. We no longer have time for the anticipation of seeing our favorite artists perform. There are always new videos and concert tapings being shared on internet video websites. Awards shows are a thing of the past and I eagerly await the day when they stop cluttering my television.
Living in Vacation Land
Many people spend their lives saving up to go on a vacation to Orlando. Afterall, Disney World is here. I’m lucky enough to live here year-round. Orlando is a great place to live. There is always something to do. We are home to many theme parks and endless entertainment options. There are countless movie theaters, night clubs, and restaurants. Orlando is a great place for foodies to live. It seems there is always a new restaurant opening and you can find any cuisine. There are tapas restaurants, great Indian restaurants, Brazilian steakhouses, and many world buffets. Additionally, there a ton of shopping malls, boutiques, and outlet stores where you can get name brand clothing and accessories on the cheap.
Pajama Day
Everyday, it is a struggle to figure out what to wear. Should I wear jeans or slacks? High heels or flats? A t-shirt or a button-down? Well, today, the decision was easy. I decided to just stay in my pajamas. It might seem lazy but nothing beats the comfort of wearing your pajamas all day long. I am quite content to shuffle around in my sweat pants and a long sleeved shirt that proudly displays one of my favorite band’s logo. Add in a pair of freshly laundered super-soft socks and a pair of house slippers and I’m ready for a day of rest and relaxation.

Flights of Fancy
Unlimited money or power are probably what most people would want if they could have anything in the world but what I would want is much different. I would want the ability to fly. Not on a plane but with just my body. I think it would be great to go out for a soar. I could visit any place that I wanted. I could easily get to the top of the highest mountains and look down at the cities below. I could watch all the people going about their day. I could get to work in a matter of minutes or visit my relatives that live far away.
Cats, and Rats, and Dogs, Oh My!

- Image via Wikipedia
Of all my possessions, all my family, and all my friends, the things that mean the most to me are my pets.My pets mean so much to me because I know that they love me unconditionally. I have one cat; he is about a year old. He looks like a Siamese but I don’t know if he is for sure. He has a small dot on the center of his forehead. I like to pretend that he is a jet-setting cat that is wearing a bindi that he picked up on a recent visit to New Delhi. My dog is a Corgi and Dacshund mix. He is brown and looks like a hot-dog dog, just not quite as long. I also have a white rat. She loves to eat! If you walk by her carrying anything edible, she runs to the side of her cage and stick out one of her tiny feet, eager for a treat!
‘Round and ‘Round
It might be hard to believe, but one of my favorite childhood memories is my first day of school. I remember how excited I was to go shopping and gather the perfect pencil case, the coolest crayons, the most awesome backpack and of course, the best back to school outfit. I remember waking up hours before I needed to so that I could get ready for school. I wore light pink sweat pants (my first day of school happened back in the day when it was actually chilly in the fall), a Little Mermaid t-shirt and a purple jacket that had a black faux-fur collar. I strapped on my Little Mermaid backpack and posed for photos on the porch. Then, my mom walked me to the corner where the bus would be picking me up. This was my first time riding the bus and I was very nervous. As the bus approached, the nerves got to me and I bailed! My mom had to ask the driver to wait so that she could chase me down and drag me back to the bus. Of course she caught me and I reluctantly got on the bus. I cried and threw a fit! Despite the cool supplies and my impeccable fashion sense, I just wasn’t ready to leave my mom’s side!
